Oh that time would stand still
And breath with me your lasting soul
You were and are a good dog
I was and am your faithful friend
This is where we part this mortal shell
And breath together in it no more
I was and am your faithful friend
Oggie Dog – my buddy, my protector, my pal
Would that you rise to the heavens
And bless the sky with your spirit and presence
As you did me in your time on earth
I was and am and ever shall be
Your faithful friend

I’m so sorry for your loss. A year ago, my Border Collie companion packed up her little doggy tent and moved on . . . I know how much it hurts.

Hi Barbara
Please know that we are thinking of you and sending you our love. It makes me cry to read your poem. I am so sorry to read about your loss, and please know our best thoughts are with you! May your buddy be released to the most beautiful place that Spirit can provide. May you take comfort in friendships and in many good things to just nurture, nurture your soul. We are thinking of you and feeling with you. —Drina

Barbara,, I cried when I read your poem about Oggie. I know you did not write it but it is from the heart of a human that has lost a sweet faithful friend. There so many wonderful grown dogs waiting for a wonderful person to love,,,the rescue organizations are begging for good humans! Grieve as long as Oggie would want you to and find another lover!!!! they will make Oggie proud!

Thanks to everyone for their heartfelt condolences. I appreciate it. Oggie was with me since he was a puppy – 9 months old, and left me at 14 years old.
And yes Samantha, I did write the poem. It was given to me by the Almighty that morning and I shared it with my online community. If I sign it, I write it. I do not plagiarize.

I sure do know the pain of losing a beloved friend. But the joys of knowing them & being with them are so worth it! With all of the foreclosures nationwide, so many of these precious babies have been abandoned. So many people grieving because their choice of shelter is so limited, and often the furry members of the family are not welcome. Oggie will help lead you to the perfect animal child that so desperately needs your love & friendship. Nothing heals the pain of loss faster, than being willing to give shelter & comfort another soul who hurts from its loss.
You can heal each other.
