People say if farmers don’t want problems from Monsanto, just don’t buy their GMO seeds.
Not so simple. Where are farmers supposed to get normal seed these days? How are they supposed to avoid contamination of their fields from GM-crops? How are they supposed to stop Monsanto detectives from trespassing or Monsanto from using helicopters to fly over spying on them?
Monsanto contaminates the fields, trespasses onto the land taking samples and if they find any GMO plants growing there (or say they have), they then sue, saying they own the crop. It’s a way to make money since farmers can’t fight back and court and they settle because they have no choice.
And they have done and are doing a bucket load of things to keep farmers and everyone else from having any access at all to buying, collecting, and saving of NORMAL seeds.
1. They’ve bought up the seed companies across the Midwest.
2. They’ve written Monsanto seed laws and gotten legislators to put them through, that make cleaning, collecting and storing of seeds so onerous in terms of fees and paperwork and testing and tracking every variety and being subject to fines, that having normal seed becomes almost impossible (an NAIS approach to wiping out normal seeds). Does your state have such a seed law? Before they existed, farmers just collected the seeds and put them in sacks in the shed and used them the next year, sharing whatever they wished with friends and neighbors, selling some if they wanted. That’s been killed.
In Illinois, which has such a seed law, Madigan, the Speaker of the House, his staff is Monsanto lobbyists.
3. Monsanto is pushing anti-democracy laws (Vilsack’s brainchild, actually) that remove community’ control over their own counties so farmers and citizens can’t block the planting of GMO crops even if they can contaminate other crops. So if you don’t want a GM-crop that grows industrial chemicals or drugs or a rice growing with human DNA in it, in your area and mixing with your crops, tough luck.
Check the map of just where the Monsanto/Vilsack laws are and see if your state is still a democracy or is Monsanto’s. A farmer in Illinois told me he heard that Bush had pushed through some regulation that made this true in every state. People need to check on that.
4. For sure there are Monsanto regulations buried in the FDA right now that make a farmer’s seed cleaning equipment illegal (another way to leave nothing but GM-seeds) because it’s now considered a “source of seed contamination.” Farmer can still seed clean but the equipment now has to be certified and a farmer said it would require a million to a million and half dollar building and equipment … for EACH line of seed. Seed storage facilities are also listed (another million?) and harvesting and transport equipment. And manure. Something that can contaminate seed. Notice that chemical fertilizers and pesticides are not mentioned.
You could eat manure and be okay (a little grossed out but okay). Try that with pesticides and fertilizers. Indian farmers have. Their top choice for how to commit suicide to escape the debt they have been left in is to drink Monsanto pesticides.
5. Monsanto is picking off seed cleaners across the Midwest. In Pilot Grove, Missouri, in Indiana (Maurice Parr), and now in southern Illinois (Steve Hixon). And they are using US marshals and state troopers and county police to show up in three cars to serve the poor farmers who had used Hixon as their seed cleaner, telling them that he or their neighbors turned them in, so across that 6 county areas, no one talking to neighbors and people are living in fear and those farming communities are falling apart from the suspicion Monsanto sowed. Hixon’s office got broken into and he thinks someone put a GPS tracking device on his equipment and that’s how Monsanto found between 200-400 customers in very scattered and remote areas, and threatened them all and destroyed his business within 2 days.
So, after demanding that seed cleaners somehow be able to tell one seed from another (or be sued to kingdom come) or corrupting legislatures to put in laws about labeling of seeds that are so onerous no one can cope with them, what is Monsanto’s attitude about labeling their own stuff? You guessed it – they’re out there pushing laws against ANY labeling of their own GM-food and animals and of any exports to other countries. Why?
We know and they know why.
As Norman Braksick, the president of Asgrow Seed Co. (now owned by Monsanto) predicted in the Kansas City Star (3/7/94) seven years ago, “If you put a label on a genetically engineered food, you might as well put a skull and crossbones on it.”
And they’ve sued dairy farmers for telling the truth about their milk being rBGH-free, though rBGH is associated with an increased risk of breast, colon and prostate cancers.
I just heard that some seed dealers urge farmers to buy the seed under the seed dealer’s name, telling the farmers it helps the dealer get a discount on seed to buy a lot under their own name. Then Monsanto sues the poor farmer for buying their seed without a contract and extorts huge sums from them.
Here’s a youtube video that is worth your time. Vandana Shiva is one of the leading anti-Monsanto people in the world. In this video, she says (and this video is old), Monsanto had sued 1500 farmers whose fields had simply been contaminated by GM-crops. Listen to all the ways Monsanto goes after farmers.
Do you know the story of Gandhi in India and how the British had salt laws that taxed salt? The British claimed it as theirs. Gandhi had what was called a Salt Satyagraha, in which people were asked to break the laws and march to the sea and collect the salt without paying the British. A kind of Boston tea party, I guess.
Thousands of people marched 240 miles to the ocean where the British were waiting. As people moved forward to collect the salt, the British soldiers clubbed them but the people kept coming. The non-violent protest exposed the British behavior, which was so revolting to the world that it helped end British control in India.
Vandana Shiva has started a Seed Satyagraha – nonviolent non-cooperation around seed laws – has gotten millions of farmers to sign a pledge to break those laws.
American farmers and cattlemen might appreciate what Gandhi fought for and what Shiva is bringing back and how much it is about what we are all so angry about – loss of basic freedoms. [The highlighting is mine.]
The Seed Satyagraha is the name for the nonviolent, noncooperative movement that Dr. Shiva has organized to stand against seed monopolies. According to Dr. Shiva, the name was inspired by Gandhi’s famous walk to the Dandi Beach, where he picked up salt and said, “You can’t monopolize this which we need for life.” But it’s not just the noncooperation aspect of the movement that is influenced by Gandhi. The creative side saving seeds, trading seeds, farming without corporate dependence–without their chemicals, without their seed.
” All this is talked about in the language that Gandhi left us as a legacy. We work with three key concepts.”
” (One) Swadeshi…which means the capacity to do your own thing–produce your own food, produce your own goods….”
“(Two) Swaraj–to govern yourself. And we fight on three fronts–water, food, and seed. JalSwaraj is water independence–water freedom and water sovereignty. Anna Swaraj is food freedom, food sovereignty. And Bija Swaraj is seed freedom and seed sovereignty. Swa means self–that which rises from the self and is very, very much a deep notion of freedom.
“I believe that these concepts, which are deep, deep, deep in Indian civilization, Gandhi resurrected them to fight for freedom. They are very important for today’s world because so far what we’ve had is centralized state rule, giving way now to centralized corporate control, and we need a third alternate. That third alternate is, in part, citizens being able to tell their state, ‘This is what your function is. This is what your obligations are,’ and being able to have their states act on corporations to say, ‘This is something you cannot do.'”
” (Three) Satyagraha, non-cooperation, basically saying, ‘We will do our thing and any law that tries to say that (our freedom) is illegal… we will have to not cooperate with it. We will defend our freedoms to have access to water, access to seed, access to food, access to medicine.'”

An open letter to Monsanto.
I will buy seed from whoever I want when I want. I have nothing for you to sue me over but you are welcome to spend millions trying. In fact I encourage you to spend as much money as you want suing me. Everyone of you that is threatened by this company, make them take you to court. Force the state to pay for your defense seeing as your the victim here and Monsanto has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Considering that cross pollination can cause their plant’s genes to show up in your crops without your consent perhaps you should threaten to counter sue them for contaminating an organic crop. The reasonable action by Monsanto would be to make their crops unable to reproduce so as to prevent them from invading other species.
Its high time you farmers quit acting like victims and start seeing the court rooms as your friends and not your enemies. There are plenty of ways to bring a corporation to its knees, you just have to be a little creative and not wither like a weed from every threat.
We Americans have grown soft thinking that the government will take care of us, not realizing all along that WE are the government and its our responsibility to take care of ourselves. If your government is not protecting you, travel the paths of politics and throw them out and replace them with people who do understand the meanings between right and wrong.
If you choose not to do this you are willingly allowing yourselves to be victimized and deserve what you get. Remember a corporation is legally a citizen and therefore can be held accountable to the same laws that we as humans can. No one has been holding them to that standard and they are not going to like it when we do.
Without a court order, any of the evidence that Monsanto gathers on your land is not legally able to be used in a court of law, and yet you people fear to go to court against them.
You must be willing to go to court and know your basic law well enough to know if the courts themselves are following the law and if they are not you must learn how to file effective complaints and have these criminals removed from their jobs.
Freedom has to be defended in a forceful manner or control freaks like Monsanto will run over you if you let them.
November 28, 2011 at 9:46 am
Monsanto sues in civil court. Civil court doesn’t require the same standards as criminal court. No court appointed lawyers, simple majority on a jury trial, no requirement to prove case beyond a reasonable doubt. The way the law is set up by congress means Monsanto has the small farmer by the short hair. The real problem rests with congress

The devil himself couldn’t have come up with a more fiendish scam. Having poisoned the food chain with DDT, PCB and Roundup, Monsanto now has its sights set on a monopoly of produce. May the executives of this ruthless outfit rot in hell forever.

My father and I were turned in to monsanto for saving seed eventhough we were not planting Roundup Ready Gmo Soybeans. We figure it was a neighbor who we had confrontations with over drainage rights to a farm. We were investigate by Pinkerington thugs who made my father sign a paper giving them access to all our buildings, farms, farm records, gov records etc.. They acted like they had concealed weapons, as if they were cops, and said, “You will sign these papers or Monsanto will sue you, you will lose and Monsanto takes pride in How Many farmers they have Bankrupted!! ” Then they laughed. Monsanto found that we were doing nothing wrong, but never sent us a specific letter saying they were sorry, But instead said, “We must make sure all farmers are playing on a level playing field and we would appreciate you business in the future.” We tried to get the names of the person or persons who falsley accused us of this misdeed so that we could sue them for defimation of character, but Monsanto refused and said that they don’t keep track of that. You cant imagine how much stress this caused us over a six month period eventhough we knew we were innocent. We were so scared that the next year we bought all Gmo seed, so that we weren’t risking losing everything. By the way we grain farmed 1800 acres. Monsanto has ruined farming and put the control in the hands of the corporations. This took place 4yrs ago. I thought I lived in a free country until this happened. Now I feel like it is Nazi Germany. I bet the person who turned us in got a free jacket or some seed. How pathetic. If you want to get your neighbors farmland or ruin his reputation, just turn him in to Monsanto. One, last thing, Monsanto has built spy facilities in every farm comunity took keep records about farmers purchases, but they disguise them as research facilities. Don’t be fooled.

If you get notified (its so long after you posted) I’d like you to contact me please. I just like to hear the stories. Our site has farmer friends. We don’t take an anti-company or anti-government tack. We focus on actions by any party acting against the law like this. Our primary work is in helping people not eat it so you don’t have to grow it so the money will stop propping up this weird public opinion that everything is dandy. If the public turns, the science will no longer be strong-armed away, the health and environmental damage can be mitigated and the cleanup can begin. You will be free to grow good food using the newest agronomist methods and get high yield and good money on small manageable plots and pioneering family farms can be started again. I won’t be following this thread to get your response (unless I receive the emails from the site as I’m supposed to) so please contact us at mailgmofreeportland (dot com). One thing we’re doing is sharing ways to get back the normal farm even with the spies and oppression. We’ve heard about the seedbuying and bank loan problems and so forth. We can connect people. But despite this, we don’t pose a threat to anyone because if you think about it, all these companies have the capital to change their business if a new agronomy comes out despite their investment in these means. And if they change their business focus, they will change their stance- possibly rolling personnel. As much as you hate these companies for what they have done- they have no soul to prevent them from changing and we will probably have to attract them with honey. There are deals to be made here so you can do true farming in the open. Your soil can be remediated despite the chemical contamination and there is a way to get income without much risk. Thanks for your post. -Mary

Monsanto’s corporate heads are undoubtably luciferic and very evil in nature. They were put here by the luciferians to starve the world into submission and to bring devestation to the planet by having everyone accepting the ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT and the coming MARK OF THE BEAST CHIP that is spoken of in the Holy Bible book of Revelation 13th and 14th chapters.
They are starving the worlds farmers and the nations of the Earth and their punishments by Gods Great Plagues will be very severe as their globalist antichrist owners will also face the Great Judgments of God Almighty for killing and martyring His Children that would not take their zombie making and autonotomic making Mark of the Beast Chip!!
When Jesus and His Mighty Angels return from heaven and overthrow the antichrist globalist in hours; they will then be thrown into the great lake of fire and brimstone where they will be screaming in the greatest agonies imaginable along with their lord lucifer and his fallen and defeated angels!!
While we that were martyred throughout the Earth for not taking the beast chip will inherit the renovated and beautified Earth along with our other fellow Christians who served and worshipped Jesus Christ!!!
December 13, 2009 at 5:12 pm
Amen! You are right on.
God Bless you friend.
January 18, 2010 at 9:55 pm
Yes this is so true. People on this Earth that are in these positions do not want to hear this. They go on as if they will live forever, ignoring the reality of God. They just want to be successful and don’t care about how they hurt others health and lives in the process of their gains in this life. Life is so short and one day this whole world will seem like a dream that never happened because it will all pass. I live in the comfort that Jesus will come at the best time and destroy this wicked kingdom arranged by satan.

I wish the Monsantos would go back to Italy and there former roots before that being the middle east without being specific if you get it.The right to free seed is a gift from God as is the air you breeth along with freedom itself. If the government doesnt care then thats becouse they are all lawyers ie lobbyists and money comes first like the Rothschild Banksters who own the Federal Reserve since 1913.They win you loose and your just a looser.
August 31, 2010 at 2:53 pm
They were never IN Italy, actually. The company was founded in 1901 by John Queeny in St. Louis, MO and named after his wife’s maiden name. His father-in-law, Emmanuel Mendes de Monsanto, a sugar producer in Puerto Rico.
Don’t confuse Monsanto, Italy with Monsanto, the company – the two are entirely different from one another. In fact, most of Italy is GM-free.

This is a very serious concern and the time has come to fight back. Trespassing is an illegal invasion with the right to defend ones property. Most farmers are well armed, when the public fights back maybe the tide will turn.
Genetically altered organisms are a threat to the web and fiber of nature. Monsanto has broken the chains of life itself with its greed and mockery and therefore humanity must defend itself against this dark evil.
The sword must finally be taken up and all good citizens must band together, support each other in the destruction of this evil.
February 11, 2009 at 4:34 am
For a huge variety of reasons, modern insulated and controlled greenhouses are almost a must when we want to feed the evergrowing hmanity. Now I have one more reason to add to the list: Monsatan… err, Monsanto.
You can build greenhouses in such a way that nothing unwanted gets inside, polens included. And it pays back! With or without Monsatan, you can get more than 100 lbs per sqft a year, if you apply the latest technology. Monsatan can only dream of that.

Everyone needs to purchase as many seeds as possible now and store it for yourself. then use those seeds for your own personal use. build a garden on your property so you can feed your own family. this way those idiots from monsanto can do what ever they want and it wont affect you . if everyone had their own gardens then monsanto could play with themselves all day on these open fields and no one will listen to them . you can buy natural seeds outside of this country as well. do it now before these idiots pick block the market . .

I read an article where in India Monsanto is playing a similar but much more devestating game. They are bankrupting farmers with their seed monopoly and taking farms. Remember that this is the same company that made agent orange! Write your Congressman now!

Stop buying corn and any corn products. Stop buying soybeans and all soybean products. Do not buy any Monsanto products. Find out what products are GMO. Stop buying any and all products that could even be remotely GMO. Buy heirloom seeds, join a seed savers group, buy as many and as much organic seeds as you can. Stop buying meat and poultry feed with this crap. Boycott, boycott!
Congress is corrupt to the bone. You need to protest with the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health.
The biggest problem with the Mid West is their mindset. Why are you people still planting corn? Why are you still planting soybeans? Why haven’t you gone organic? There are seed companies ALL over the world you can buy from. What’s wrong with you people? Are you that programed you can’t change the way you farm? There’s loads of information out there on how to farm better.
Monsanto needs fields to raise their shit…why are you volunteering to do that? Stop using chemicals. Rethink and make a change.
February 11, 2009 at 6:07 pm
This is why you need to grow your own food and raise your own livestock on your small to medium plot of land in a rural/remote community with liberal or no covenants that allow you to do so. In the mountains/hills is preferable because it is less likely Monsanto’s seeds can “float” there. Then, save every seed you can. Clean and dry them and store them in your house using dessicant. Do not buy Roundup Ready seeds, period, Buy from organic growers and grow organic yourself. And stop being dependent on government for anything, including welfare, social security and the like. Depend on God.

Why farmers didn’t take monsanto to court for polluting and destroying God given plants (cross pollination of notGMO plants)?
February 12, 2009 at 6:58 am
For more information on the process to create a “Transgenic Community” see an article we published about this situation: http://eriewire.wordpress.com/agriculture/
We are trying to deal with the problem by acting as a voice in the media for farmers who are unaware of the consequences Monsanto is bringing to the future of their profession.
If anyone knows any Farmers (directly) who are experiencing problems with Monsanto (or, any of the transgenic companies), then please have them contact us for legal advice – via are email: eriewire@gmail.com

Monsanto isn’t new, nor are it’s criminal acts against America and the rest of the planet the worst crimes happening currently.
I assume it has an agenda. What it is is anyone’s guess.
February 12, 2009 at 3:23 pm
We need the judgement of Solomon
Monsanto should remove each and every one of their seeds from the fields they have contaminated, one at a time, without damaging the original crop.
The dream of GM seeds was to make food grow in the desert, I remember hearing about it in the 80s from idealistic post grad research students. It was not to replace seeds in regular farming areas.
February 12, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Stop being such pussies. If Monsanto thugs come on to your land then get your gun and chase them the hell off. If they persist then take more drastic action. Their goal is your destruction!
Learn the law and don’t be intimidated by them! If cross-pollination occurs then sue them for ruining your crops! Band together and file a class action suit! Don’t just TAKE IT!!! That means your destruction and the destruction of all Americans!
If every product had to be labeled as to it’s contents then no one would by any GMO crop.
When Penn. declared that labeling milk with bovine hormones would stop the good citizens of Pennsylvania rose up and took the state by storm. That made the governor take it back, FAST.
As far as consumers, don’t buy anything that was made with GMO seeds. Plant a garden, buy organic thru cooperatives.
It’s time we stopped being slaves!

Monsanto bragged about their “Terminator” seeds, saying that even if they ever made a mistake, it wouldn’t breed on its own.
Meanwhile their pollen spreads sterility along with all their other undesirable mutations. Are they concerned that farmers
who don’t buy from them will see their crops going sterile? Why, no. Not in the least.
Why would they be?
Don’t the Nuremberg Protocols require informed consent before people experiment on other people? Don’t those rules apply to Monsanto? Well, they do, but only if you make that happen. No law ever enforced itself.
February 13, 2009 at 3:54 am
Traitor Seeds
Something not many know about are the Traitor seeds. Remember the Bht cotton that Indian farmers committed suicide over because they produce significantly less than advertised? These farmers could not afford all of the chemicals. The seeds were Traitor seeds. Here is a 1999 definition:
If enough chemicals are not applied, the genetically modified plants’ genes are not triggered and they do not grow well. You have to apply the appropriate chemicals to get them to grow. Coincidentally, the appropriate chemicals are manufactured by the same company that manufactures the seeds. This technology is even more insidious than the terminator seeds because it is being kept secret.

Steve, #28, is right about control. This is all about gaining control of the grain market thru the patenting process. I fear the same thing will happen with the cloning/patenting of animals.
And the FDA is apparently on their side. Now they want to irradiate our food. How long before it is illegal to sell non-irradiated food? How long before CODEX tells us we can’t grow medicinal herbs in our gardens? My only hope is that in our failing economy, with so many of it’s businesses shutting their doors, companies like Monsanto will go bankrupt and fade from the face of the earth.
February 13, 2009 at 7:28 pm

This is just real simple . . . it’s time to burn Monsanto’s barns . . . and they have a lot. It works every time.

Next month I am moving to MO where I plan to live off the land as much as possible. If my garden crop gets contaminated with Monsanto’s GM stuff that is known to cause health problems. I will sue them. That is if I don’t shoot them first for trespassing.

Barbara P.,
Thanks for the link. I’ve bookmarked it, along with your site.
What gets me is that now, even in Iraq, large-scale farmers must purchase “registered” (most likely Monsanto) seeds. With the blessings of our govt. no doubt. And I don’t see Obama as being someone who will make the necessary changes…
February 14, 2009 at 12:08 am
If it’s OK, I would like to post this on my blog giving yours credit….I hate GMO – it’s sick, sick, sick.
February 14, 2009 at 12:16 am
You are absolutely right, DBB. The Iraqi seed bank in which all of their diverse seeds were stored was conveniently destroyed. Here is an excerpt from an article by William F. Engdahl, author of Seeds of Destruction:
“For years, the Iraqis had held samples of such precious natural seed varieties in a national seed bank, located, ironically, in Abu Ghraib, the city made infamous as a US military torture prison site in 2004. Following the US occupation and various bombing campaigns, the historic and invaluable seed bank in Abu Ghraib vanished, a possible further casualty of the Iraq war.” Read the rest of the article here: http://www.engdahl.oilgeopolitics.net/GMO/Iraq_and_seeds_of_democracy/iraq_and_seeds_of_democracy.HTM
A verifying article from OrganicConsumers.org written in 2006, states:
After the so-called “transfer of sovereignty” in June 2004, when former Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) administrator L. Paul Bremer III left Baghdad, he left behind the 100 orders he enacted as head of the occupation authority in Iraq. Of Bremer’s 100 Orders, Order 81 contains the edicts (paragraphs 51 – 79) pertinent to agriculture. Order 81, while claiming otherwise, will actually reduce biodiversity and thus lead to a monoculture susceptible to disease, increase chemical use, and pave the way for Genetically Modified Organisms (“GMOs”) to dominate food production in Iraq. Read the rest of the article here: http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_1867.cfm
Not only was the infrastructure destroyed, but Monsanto has full reign in the country, just as it is working with the US government to obtain full reign in the US.

What an important story. Thanks for posting it. What Monsanto is doing is abominable, anti-environmental and anti-humanitarian.
The fight against this greedy, destructive company should be taken up by as many people worldwide as possible. Healthy crops and seeds are the birthright of humankind.
My heart goes out to the hard-working farmers who are being targeted by law suits by this beastly company.

I read about this on a local group…St. Louis gal lived a mile from Monsanto Headquarters most of my life. I wanted to also make you aware of the FDA Globalization act of 2009. Basically reqquires the makers of food to spend 10’s of thousands of dollars to prove their food is safe. Basically requiring a validatable paper trail of the safety of thier product from seed to fertilizer etc to market. Smell something fishy….of course in the light of the samonella outbreak will probably get much support, but will ultimately put organic growers, and the jam & jelly group out of business..buy your veggies from a local weekend farmers market…they will go away.
I make natura and organic skin care products in a cottage industry fashion, have documentation to validate GC & MS clarity of products, but will be obliged to validate the safety of my workplace even though I am VERY small scale. I don’t make enough from selling in my niche market to even come close to applying to have the permit process start, so I will go back to just making things for family and friends after I have them sign a affidavit that they won’t sue me for making lotion for them
Here is a link to the Natural perfumers Guild that has a link to the FDA bill at the top.

[…] Monsanto contaminates the fields, trespasses onto the land taking samples and if they find any GMO plants growing there (or say they have), they then sue, saying they own the crop. It’s a way to make money since farmers can’t fight back and court and they settle because they have no choice. (SMCC, 2009) […]

There is only one way to deal with people who are trying to destroy you and that is with deadly force that the American people are working up to. The 1st step: On April 1st, mail a tea bag to the white house. The symbol here is the
Boston Tea Party, precursor to the
Revolutionary War to rid ourselves of the British and win our Freedom. On July 4th mail a single
.22 cal bullet to the white house symbolizing our intention to preserve the Freedom so many Americans have fought and died for.
Our Freedom is under assault and we must develop a spine to prevent ourselves from becoming slaves. The
FDA cares nothing for our welfare.

You seem to have forgotten the matter of money…suing Monsanto will cost A LOT of money for Joe-Average farmer. Much more than they have and most risk losing their farms.
Your points are well-made, however money is needed to create the action you’re taking about.
Care to share some?

People should be calling, emailing and faxing their representatives and senators monthly explaining that Monsanto has declared war on small farms in the USA. Ask them if they want to see small farms disappear from their state.

I have to buy non-GMO food. GMO food almost killed me – – – twice, until I found out I was very allergic to it. Unfortunately my oldest son didn’t know. He died of liver cancer. Now that I am non-GMO, I am no longer a diabetic. A little cane sugar doesn’t bother me. High Fructose GMO Corn Syrup made me very sick. GMOs are killing those who are allergic and do not know they are eating/drinking it.

Russ,
I too cannot tolerate most GM products. I broke out in a bad rash that was spreading from my calf to my shoulders. I couldn’t figure out what it was. My mother broke out in the same rash, and her doctors sent her home with anti-fungal creme after a massive round of anti-biotics. They said they did not know what it was. The rash was so bad that it oozed and itched all the time.
I cut out processed foods, milk, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, etc. and the rash is gone. I can now tolerate a small amount of sugar, but if I eat too much, or eat high-fructose corn syrup or drink RBGH milk, the rash comes back almost immediately. GMO and I do not mix.
My dog also has a reaction. He is older, and if he gets hold of GMO, he gets sick and throws up. I make his food from scratch because pet food is chock full of GMO and other harmful ingredients.
March 9, 2009 at 4:19 am
You have to realize that there are many foods such as ‘maltodextrin’ that are also made from Bt corn. Even the artificial sweeteners are such as aspartame are GMO and must be avoided because they do increase measured sugar level, do cause weight gain and are toxic.

What is behind all the attacks on our food supply?
We all know Monsanto does not stand alone, but it is a more prominent target than the others in the Agri-business Cartel or IPC, the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council .
I found an excellent article by F. William Engdah who gives a very good explanation of how most of the nations in the world have been taken over by the Mega-Corporations. Engdah has studied trade issues since 1984. There are many others who back up his information. http://www.publiceyeonscience.ch/images/the_wto_and_the_politics_of_gmo.doc
In the following I have paraphrased Engdah Article.
The current state of affairs in World Agriculture goes back to IPC influence in the formation of the WTO, World Trade Organization and AoA, the Agreement on Agriculture. The WTO emasculated the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) an international agreement on the safe handling and treatment of GMOs. Instead of the usual trade treaties for the first time a world organization WTO, with tough sanction and enforcement powers, was formed. More important, decision making would be secret, with no oversight. The most vital issues of economic life on the planet were to be decided behind closed doors.
Under WTO rules, countries can challenge another’s laws. The case is heard by a tribunal of three trade bureaucrats (corporate lawyers). There is no conflict of interest rules binding them, and the names of the judges are kept secret. There is no rule that the judges of WTO respect any national laws, the three judges meet in secret and all court documents are confidential and cannot be published.
The actual author of the WTO AoA was Daniel Amstutz, a former Vice President of Cargill. He was appointed by US Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman, Member Emeritus of IPC and a former board member of a Monsanto subsidiary. The AoA has brought misery, indebtedness and bankruptcy to millions of farmers. It has caused thousands of farmer suicides and hundreds of consumers to fall ill.
“The Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures…Aims to ensure that governments DO NOT USE QUARANTINE AND FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS as Unjustified trade barriers
The Agreement to Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) forbid member countries using domestic standards or testing, food safety laws, product standards, calling them an ‘unfair barrier to trade.’
Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) introduced intellectual property rules (patents) on plants, animals and seeds. This where Monsanto gained the power to patent seed and sue farmers. WTO also removed tariffs allowing dumping of heavily subsidized EU and USA grains on third world countries, big money for the grain traders.
Who controls WTO?
Almost never does someone ask ‘who really controls the WTO?’ Yet the question is of utmost importance for the future of global food security. The powerful private interests who control WTO agriculture policy prefer to remain in the background. The IPC was created in 1987 explicitly to drive home the GATT agriculture rules of WTO. A look at the IPC membership will explain what interests it represents.
The Chairman is Robert Thompson, former Assistant Secretary US Department of Agriculture and former Presidential economic adviser.
Also included in the IPC are Bernard Auxenfans, former chairman Monsanto France; Allen Andreas of ADM/Toepfer;
Andrew Burke, Bunge (US);
Dale Hathaway former USDA official and head IFPRI (US).
Other IPC members include Heinz Imhof, chairman of Syngenta (CH)
Rob Johnson of Cargill (US) and USDA Agriculture Policy Advisory Council;
Guy Legras (France) former EU Director General Agriculture,
Rolf Moehler (Germany) former EU Director General Agriculture
. Donald Nelson of Kraft Foods (US);
Joe O’Mara of USDA,
Hiroshi Shiraiwa of Mitsui & Co Japan;
Jim Starkey former US Trade Representative Assistant;
Hans Joehr, Nestle head of agriculture;
Jerry Steiner, Monsanto (US).
And Members Emeritus include Ann Veneman, herself a board member of a Monsanto subsidiary company before she became US Secretary of Agriculture for George W. Bush in 2001.
In effect the IPC is run by agribusiness giants including Cargill, Monsanto, Bunge, ADM, the very interests which benefit from the rules they drafted for WTO trade.

Hi…All the farmers should have signs posted “Trespasers will be shot” and then group up and be waiting for trespassers from Monsanto. They should then do what their forefathers would’ve done…and shoot the bastards, every last one of them. They should continue this practice until monsanto got the message and stayed the F*** off their property. Period.
March 12, 2009 at 6:42 pm
Boycott Monsanto.
We need to change corporate law to reflect a duty, on the part of corporations, to their community, state and this nation, before their duty to the stockholders for profit.
Corporate law is the problem. No profit driven psychotic organization should be allowed to toss their weight around, this way, nor should any such entity be entitled to personhood, under the Law.

I think a lawsuit should be brought against Monsanto for contaminating the non GM fields, with punitive damages and cleaup cost related to eliminating the inferior GM seed from the farm.

To Ed, wishing that the Monsantos would go back to Italy: actually the Monsanto family’s origins are not Italian. They are the same as the Rothschild family. A group that tends to change their surnames, as camoflage. Surprise surprise.

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t know Monsanto and other companies own our “leaders” lock, stock and pockerbook? What did we think would happen when lobby money got into the millions and billions? Why do you think senators and congressmen are so very desperate to have and keep their jobs? It’s for the lobby money.
March 12, 2009 at 8:13 pm
When will the American people realize that we can stop these people in the JURY BOX. The cartel/monopoly of the legal racket (all lawyers, and judges — political lawyers with government jobs)goes ballistic when reminded that Jury Nullification is the basis of English common law. The first amendment is based on Jury Nullification. Simply stated, when Monsanto sues, the jury needs to render the verdict that, well yes, these “bought and paid for laws” may have been broken, but these laws are ethically and morally wrong so we find for the defendant. Read Lysander Spooner and google “Jury Nullification”. As Jefferson said, in order for a law to deprive a person of their life, liberty, or property, it must pass five tribunals. These tribunals are; 1. house, 2. senate, 3. executive, 4. judiciary (sic), and 5. Jefferson’s own words, “the most important — the jury”. This is the only option left to regain our liberty.

Hi Marie,
Fungicide did not work, neither did antibiotics. I did not have the Morgellon’s fibers, but had all of the other symptoms. Morgellon’s disease is very nasty; in fact, the fibers contain the same material that is used to create GMOs. Please read my article titled GMO and Morgellon’s Disease located at the Centre for Global Research.

March 12, 2009 at 9:04 pm
It is indeed clear that changes have to be made world wide in the supreme court judiciary in all jurisdictions in order to reflect the rights of the people over the corporation. These changes have to be made as quickly as possible before the natural biogenetic diversity of plants and animals are allowed to be destroyed by the corporations and their share holders who seek only to benefit their economic bottom line. The responsibility lies with those judiciary that granted patent rights to companies and did not take in consideration the long term affects of their judgements. These past judgements must be overturned by the world court and those responsible held accountable.

It would be tragic to see high level Monsanto executives (and their wives in Congress like Rep. Rosa DeLauro [D-CT] who introduced HR 875), be shot over this. That would make gun owners look bad. Instead, these lobbyist, insiders and executives who work for Monsanto should be smothered in their own GM seeds. Maybe then people will see how dangerous these seeds are, that we have to get these dangerous seeds off our streets before they kill again. I would love to see a Monsanto Serial Killer, one who would make every Monsanto employee as fearful as the average farmer is today. Otherwise, Monsanto is going to destroy the world. They are the greatest criminal organization next to the Federal Reserve.

If what I’ve read is true; that mosanto thugs are intimidating farmers. It seems to me that there is a simple solution. Intimidate them back. Given that I am normaly a nonviolent man I would not suggest hiring superbly trained sharp shooters out of the army and now unemployed to Oh, say, knee cap them at 1000 yards. No, I would not suggest that. But then it might reduce (out of fear) their numbers. Bullies are notorious cowards! REVOLT
March 13, 2009 at 12:16 am

Monsanto needs to be destroyed in any way possible. Their employees need to be chastised and driven out of their homes and communities for being the vile creatures they are. Make Monsanto prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the “DNA” in question did not mutate on its own. Nature has been known to change and evolve over time. Chances are the DNA they claimed to have patented existed prior to their patent or can emerge naturally at any tine as a mutation.
March 13, 2009 at 3:34 am
Monsanto will intimidate ANYONE, not just farmers. They will go after magazine publishers for ‘bad press’ articles exposing their practices. They will go after web hosting companies for hosting ‘anti-Monsanto’ info, etc, etc. And while people are becoming more and more aware of the company’s practices, they have been doing terrible things for a long, long time. Its going to come to crises– a point that has to galvanize popular opinion– because without it, they will continue to carry out their quiet privitization of genetic code. While your at it, check out Dupont, AstraZeneca, Novartis, GE, Nestle, etc. All involved one-or-another in GMO seed and GMO products.
Also, it should come as no surprise then why anyone would spend so much money on somthing called a “seed vault”, or why there are several in the making.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svalbard_Global_Seed_Vault
March 13, 2009 at 5:07 am
Only way to stop them is class action suit to enjoin them from contaminating the natural seed fields being planted.
March 13, 2009 at 3:15 pm
And Monsanto is behind HR 875, too. One of their VP’s is married to the Dem who is championing the bill. If we don’t stop this incarnation of HR 875, we will have nothing but Big Ag and a biased government telling us what methods and products we can use to grow our food! Just Say NO!

I was about to forward this excellent article abut Monsanto to friends, and then I looked at the home page for this site … survivingthemiddleclasscrash.wordpress.com
There right up front I found a write-up about Morgellons disease which linked it to GMO crops. Come on folks — puull-LEASE!!! Morgellons is a crock — it’s some wrong-headed person’s fantasy overlay on an already recognized psychosomatic disorder known as delusional parasitosis (ie., bugs crawling under the skin). Why do people poison their own good message with claptrap like that? There are very important reasons for not allowing GMO crops in the food supply, or in the environment. Morgellons is NOT one of them!!! It’s easy to see why people don’t take the warnings of environmentalists seriously with this kind of sillyness. Isn’t this website supervised? Where is the moderator? Oh … I see … it was the *moderator* who posted the article. Ms. Peterson, your website is a great service, but with all due respect, you’re killing us with this crap.
March 15, 2009 at 3:26 am
Alexander,
Personally, I could care less if you believe that Morgellon’s Disease is real or not. I can tell you that when you accuse someone who has real symptoms of being delusional, you are no better than the people who inflict illness on people on purpose.
I have suffered from eating GMOs, and I didn’t imagine it. I was taking care of my elderly mother, and we had basically the same diet. Lots of processed food because it was easy and she loved it. She started breaking out in open, oozing pustules on her leg, that itched intensely.
I took her to the doc, and he really didn’t know what it was, but prescribed antibiotics. They didn’t work. I took her back, and he prescribed even more potent antibiotics. They didn’t work either. I took her to a laboratory where they ran a battery of tests, and gave us a prescription for vaginal fungus cream, after saying they didn’t know what it was. The fungus cream didn’t work.
I thought she must have an allergy to something that must have slipped by the tests, so I cut out all processed foods for her including store-bought milk, started feeding her whole fruits and veggies, no sugar, raw goat’s milk from a goat that I milked myself, and the symptoms went away.
I kept eating processed food along with the good stuff. Well, guess what, I developed the same symptoms. It got so bad that the open, oozing sores traveled from my leg all the way up to my shoulders. It felt like bugs were crawling under my skin, and the itching was so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I knew that some people would say that it was all in my imagination, or just excema, so I took pictures, which I still have. The only symptoms of Morgellon’s that I didn’t have were the fibers.
I took to the net to do research, and found out that all the processed stuff that I really liked contained a large amount of GMO, including the store-bought milk and cheese products. I stopped eating them, and went to the same diet I placed my mother on. Guess what? I lost 68 pounds and all of the symptoms went away.
I tested this out. If I eat high fructose corn syrup, store-bought milk and cheese, or anything else containing a lot of GMO, I start to break out again. When I stop, the symptoms go away. There is no better proof than that. GMOs cause illness.
So please, do not forward the article. I would rather lose readers than cater to people who are so close-minded that they cannot see beyond their own very limited perspectives.
Barb
March 15, 2009 at 8:44 am
I had an experience similar to Barb. I had all the symptoms of Morgellons except suicide. I had the open sores. I had the fibers. I had the stabbing pain. I went to hospital and was diagnosed with ‘DOP – dilution of parasite’. When the doctor left, the med tech said don’t worry about it, we have had a lot of these cases. Can you believe that a lot of our military have dilutions? That is what motivated me, as a research engineer, to find out what was going on. Do go to http://Opinion.FarTooMuch.Info/GMO.htm for the experiments on myself that led me to the conclusion that GMOs do damage those of us who all allergic to them. For me, this is especially true of the Bt-toxin found in GM Corn, Soy, etc.
I have been told that it is genes from Bacillus thuringiensis that creates the Bt-toxin, that are spliced into some GM foods. Bacillus thuringiensis is closely related to B. cereus, a soil bacterium that causes food poisoning, and B. anthracis, the cause of anthrax. And yet we are told Bt-toxin, a pesticide, is ‘safe’. Even though there are tens of thousands of cases of Morgellons. Even though Bt GMOs can kill mice, dogs, sheep, cows, birds and bees.
The assault continues with HR 875 to destroy local organic agriculture. For me, a world of only GM foods is a death sentence.
March 15, 2009 at 4:06 pm
Perhaps it is time ofr a national strike?
March 16, 2009 at 4:58 pm
HR 875 is to destroy all small agriculture. Read it. It concerns any location that produces, stores, processes food, etc. Well, I store food in my kitchen and I can foor in my kitchen and I grow food in my yard. That, according to HR 875 makes me a food production facility.
I bought my seeds from Baker Seeds. They sell only non-gmo, heirloom seeds from around the world. They said that it was very difficult to find cord that was not contaminated by GMO hybrids. So, Monsanto doesn’t have to put anything on your fields, they just wait until their trash does it by nature. That should be grounds for a lawsuit against Monsanto for ruining an organic crop which would be a financial loss for an organic farmer.

TO ALL THE FARMERS OUT THERE……IGNORANCE IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. Read Sea Energy Agriculture by Maynard Murray, M.D.. You CAN grown highly productive crops without ANY artificial or toxic chemicals using sea salts as a fertilizer. The entire method is completely organic and remineralizes the soil in the process naturally. Also, don’t give any of your money to the pigs at Monsanto. Why would you give your money to a corporation that wants to kill you and your business? You should all band together to bring a class action suit against Monsatin for polluting your land!!! Wake up!!! God speed.

I’ve been reading a lot about GMOs just the past few days.
I wonder….what do these people at Monsanto eat?
What kind of aliments do thier employees develop?
I would love to find out…and laugh if they do not eat GMO based products…..
I guess that would really be ‘truth in the pudding’ :)

Nice post.

Considering past events like Oklahoma City incident, Monsanto is pretty stupid to keep putting pressure on farmers who happen to have access to large quantities of fertilizer.

Jesus H. Christ!
how can I defend myself from Monsanto, politicians and federal devils who are indirectly paid by them ?
what a stupid idea-call a congressman! monsanto’s money got him elected in the first place.they play golf together.
they will get what they want by guile or by force-eventually.
what they hate most is self-sufficient,thinking poeple who do not need their handouts, guidance and other government services they try to force-feed us with.
say,i refuse to buy their GM crap-they’ll put me on a no-fly list, then start prosecuting me under the federal law, then declare me to be a terrorist w/o trial.
in the end they will send AH-64 Apache combat helicopter to hunt me down.
my 30-06 rounds will not even dent its armor,
IR radar will lock in on my warm body, then they will finish me off with 30mm machine gun or Hellfire missile($39,000 a pop).
Monsanto will gladly reimburse the cost of the mission.and my friends will see the error of their ways.
March 23, 2009 at 3:36 am
John,
I have found that in this world, you’ve got to stand for something. Not one of us is going to get out of this alive. We all die eventually. The question is, will we go standing up for what is right, or will we go groveling like serfs? For me, I will dig in, garden, harvest and save my own seeds. I will barter with my neighbors for things I need. We do what we can, and not let fear overcome us. We outnumber them – just remember that. More and more people are waking up every day. We are not alone. You are absolutely correct in that what they hate the most is the self-sufficient. So, let’s work on becoming as self-sufficient as we can.

joe comment # 22-you are right!
the vile snout of Monsanto was conspicuously visible in South Vietnam 1962 to 1971.
we sprayed the jungle with Agent Orange produced by Monsanto for the dual purpose of defoliating forest areas that might conceal Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces and destroying crops that might feed the enemy.
Many who suffered long exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam later developed a number of cancers and other health disorders.
U.S. veterans brought a class-action lawsuit against Monsanto and seven herbicide makers that produced Agent Orange for the U.S. military. The suit was settled out of court with the establishment of a $180,000,000 fund to compensate some 250,000 claimants and their families.
Barbara, with all due respect i will not follow your general advice to die standing up like sore thumb or some other thing.that is how you survive-groveling and burrowing, ducking and covering.
is not it ironic-in the 60’s guys from the wrong side of the tracks were sprayed with Agent Orange while college kids wore beads and merrily chanted ‘Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh, NLF is gonna win!'(Ho Chi f… Minh did win in case you forgot).
now Monsanto will spray college kids at home for growing non-Monsanto-certified stuff.what a blowback! curses, like chickens, come home to roost .and we’ll turn into VC-traveling by foot and living off the land.
THAT IS THE MOST INFORMATIVE AND REVEALING FORUM I EVER STUMBLED UPON-BEATS ‘WSJ’ AND ‘ECONOMIST’.THANK YOU ALL!
March 24, 2009 at 1:06 am
Hi John,
Thank you for posting! We all need to remember this company’s roots, and the living hell that people are still going through because of its callous disregard for human life.
You wrote:

Actually, I believe that we are closer in agreement in this area than it appears. My intent was to convey that we all need to stand for something, and if we lose our values, then we lose ourselves. We cannot let these people rob us of who we are. The tactics of survival will require, as you say, various methods such as living off the land. By groveling I meant giving in to the paralyzing fear that makes one cave in to the enemy and do whatever he/she wants. Resistance is our only hope, and we need to do what we can to survive.
March 24, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Note to “Not on my watch”: The “courts” are owned by the corporations and most of the “judges” won’t rule against a Monsanto type company, unless forced to. This takes much more than a “basic understanding of law”. One must not only understand Admiralty/corporation de facto law, but also Constitutional de jure law, and implement the latter. Thanks for your time.

I wonder if anyone will read this or is even still reading this.
I think I have a great idea….and pretty wierd considering it involves starbucks as an ally.
I thought I saw a video where someone was saying that the coffee industry has decided to not use GMO’s as they do not want to sacrifice flavor.
Not sure if this is true.
But I think, if we could locate all the coffee crops, and plant GMO’s next to them, then this would cause the coffee corporation to do something and maybe be someone big enough to help our farmers fight these GMO dirtbags.
April 15, 2009 at 10:49 pm
I heard the same thing, but cannot remember where. Interesting that sacrificing flavor is a GMO side effect, among many others.

I feel kinda worried I might get boo-ed for posting this, cause I’m not American.. so what right do I have to judge.
But I simply want to speak from the little experience I had. I live in the Far East of the globe. I went on a 3 month tour all over USA last year.
I don’t eat much “processed” food back in my country and certainly not much, if any GMOs. So my palette is used to “natural” foods.
I spent my first week of my US trip in LA. The first thing that was a shock to my system was the taste of the food. I know this sounds ridiculous, but honestly, the food tasted artificial. In fact, the impression that came to mind was “plastic”. Like something created in an artificial environment. My family was with me and we fell sick within the first week. I kid you not. We purchased a three day pass for Disneyland but stayed in the hotel feeling ill.
I am not very well read, so I never heard of GMOs until these last few days.
After a few weeks in USA, we got used to the taste.. but we also noticed that there were many obese people around. I personally figured it must be the high levels of sugar in all the food and drink. I felt really angry and sad on their behalf because they didn’t have much choice in food! Everywhere we turned was processed food and drink.
I wish we could all do something about the level of greed in the world. I know many people feel we can. But I have to admit I am very disappointed with humanity :((
Thanks for this post Barb.
April 20, 2009 at 5:23 pm
No booing here. It is good to hear from someone who has not been overwhelmed by American processed GM food. We in the U.S. are so close to the problem that we don’t notice what others do. Thank you for your observations, they are valuable.
April 20, 2009 at 1:51 am
The executives of Bechtel, Monsanto, and many other poisonous American companies should be on trial along with Madoff, and the rest of the greedy gang. These so called leaders of American business and society worship at the altar of the god of greed. I doubt it makes a difference to them what the hoi polloi think.

post #128 FarEastAsian:
eating GM crap is bad for health-so stick with a diet your ancestors tried for many years and you’ll be OK.
not every American is fat or out of shape-Playboy magazine provides a lot of counterexamples.
good folks at http://journeytoforever.org/farm_library.html#price
scanned,OCRed and posted a book ‘Nutrition and Physical Degeneration-A Comparison of Primitive and Modern Diets and Their Effects’
which illustrates how even the slightest changes in a diet negatively affect the health of the indigenous population.
a Harvard professor raves about this book concluding his preface with a phrase:
‘I salute Dr. Price with the sincerest admiration (the kind that
is tinged with envy) because he has found out something which I should like to have
discovered for myself’.
this book hails from good old times(all times are good when old,of course) when people saw things as they are and called a spade a spade-not an entrenching tool!
just read from this book at random:
FIG. 19. The blight of the white man’s commerce is
seen everywhere in the distorted countenances of even
the first generation after the adoption by the parents of
the foods of modern commerce. These young people
with their deformed dental arches are typical. Note the
faulty development of the facial bones as evidenced by
the narrow nostrils and crowded teeth.
this kind of writing is just a balm for my soul!
One almost sees John Wayne-like Mr.Weston Price during his scientific exploits:
‘Stand up,you moron!Don’t move!Bare your teeth!Don’t smile-you already look like an idiot!’ flashes his camera.scared native bites Mr.Price’s finger.Mr.Price yells and kills the native with a lead-tipped walking cane, then pays Tribal Chief $1 in damages.Tribal Chief dances in delight and offers more victims-75 cents apiece.Mr.Price politely declines.
and what caused degeneration among the natives back then? such innocent things as sugar, jam, enriched refined flour, coffee, chocolate.
back to the present-how GM tomatoes with a string of fish DNA (courtesy of Monsanto) will affect natives and the rest of us ?
nobody knows and almost nobody -except Ms.Barbara Petersen-cares.at every WalMart 98% of grocery shoppers home in on a sticker with a lowest price.

Has anyone access to a list of companies with a majority association with Monsanto so that a boycott of their products can be organized ?
The controlling of nature and the food chain has to be resisted at every level.
Expose the politicians who have vested interests, boycott their products, farmers just have to unite against this draconian corporate vulture.

[…] The Multiple Ways Monsanto is Putting Normal Seeds Out of Reach […]
July 8, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I have been getting sick and having the usuall stomack flu as well as my family for 8 years that I lived in Illinois. With time I discovered organic and Kosher foods which promise to be somewhat “clean”. I am not able to plant my own produce but would if I had the resources. I developed an outbreak on my arms similar to Chicken Pox that become worse if I consume dairy products, and after several (6) allergy tests I am not allergic to anything in particular.
I can not eat out since every time I would get the stomack flu. So I spend time to cook every single day and buy from local farms and I’m always on the lookout for something pure, natural, clean that I could add to my plate.
So last night I watched the documentary “The World according to Monsanto” and I haven’t been calm since. I am so outraged. I am dissapointed and most importantly how did I miss that?
Well one of the reasons is because the news never cover anything that is important. They would catch something and follow it for weeks and ignore the rest of the world and most importantly what is happening with the regular people.
I believe for some time now that nothing is as it seems on the news, and there is no money in the world that would make the CNN or Fox news or any other channel say anything bad about Monstersantos. (don’t translate)
Everytime my friends come to visit from Europe they get sick, and the food here tastes to them as plastic.
There is no limit to idiotism.
As dear the old times and morals and values and love are to us, so is the money to them.
There are clearly now two kinds of people.
Those who will do anything for money and those who are just trying to live a decent life including now fighting and spending time and money on finding one small corner of this world where you can live clean and pure.
Even these internet companies and now these fancy tv’s, yes we need them, but they made it a life necessity. So when I look at anything in my daily life, I am a slave and dependant on idiotism…the things those idiots thought out while they were bored.
Don’t be fooled…there is no religion or God behind this, although they claim to be Christians.
So after this monologue I would like to add perhaps that we all boycott all of these products, even just for a week. It should come to us as a cleansing of some sort. And whoever has any ties or connections to any tv or radio station, they should try to send out any tipe of information about this very important topic.
I have made it my goal to share this info, as well as the documantary that I mentioned above to everybody I know even to my neighbors and co-workers.
I am appalled at the torture the farmers have to endure. I feel like we are living in communism. What happened to freedom?
Well I am sure this won’t be resolved anytime soon and not easily but we all have to try as much as possible, because we are in nature self-sufficient.
BOYCOTT GMO!!!

All: I found a writers forum called ‘Helium’. Selecting ‘Health & Fitness’ then ‘Nutrition’ then ‘Nutrition & Health Issues’ I found a discussion on ‘Are GMO foods Safe or Dangerous to Consume’. I know they are not because the Bt-toxin almost killed me. But the HFCS industry have their ads and writers saying how good GMO foods are. I encourage writers to go to the following link and write a ‘NO’ response.

Don’t look at the problem. Concentrate on the solution
If everyone was to buy only organic then that would put an end to monsanto
People buy non organic food because it is cheaper, they have little regard for the fact that it’s laden with pesticides, So if we were to sell our organic food for cheaper than non organic or evan at par, then people would buy only organic food.
We only have to do that till we put a stop to monsanto
We’d soon recover from any loss we may have incured during this time and whats more is if we sell our organic food cheaper we will sell a hell of a lot more and thereby make more money on volume alone. it’s a win win situation
If monsanto was to gain control of all the food then they would be trying to shove their crap down our throats
And you know full well they have their own organic crops, which they’ll just claim it’s for research purposses. and they would be eating healthy while trying to shove their crap down our throats. Can you see that?

So what we’ll have to do is find and destroy their crops. Maybe then they’d wake up. because the wouldn’t want to be in the same boat as us.
September 25, 2009 at 5:26 pm
Buying organic will only slow the onslaught.
The only legal solution is to buy the patents and to patent as many new things as we can, then put them into the public domain.
It should go without saying that patenting food is not an intrinsic human right, this is evil to the core but the only way to fight it is to use the system that lets them exist.
Another solution is to possibly play the game their way and make genetically engineered grass/trees and put it on their property and then sue them for it. Legal harassment.
If those methods fail?
Then there are reasons people kill people and sometimes it is amazingly justified.
February 3, 2010 at 10:24 pm
“Then there are reasons people kill people and sometimes it is amazingly justified”.
When I was growing up in the 60’s & 70’s, I watched the old shoot ’em Cowboy type of TV Shows from the 1800’s often filmed on rural farms.
As I got older, I no longer laughed at these shows but instead used to look down on the people who shot each other and left their victim for dead lying in the street. I thought of them as criminals, savages and barbaric. I disliked the anarchy.
I wondered how the people back then could live with this uncertainty and anarchy. Almost every adult owned a gun and could come riding horseback onto your property and steal whatever they wanted. Whoever survived the shootout … won.
By the time I graduated high school in the late 70’s, I was glad I didn’t live through those times and that the world was more civilized.
Well, it seems that things haven’t really changed much. According to laws back then, criminals had little protection. Now, the law protects the criminals. Back then the townspeople got together and the psycho troublemakers were killed.
I agree … we could resort back to the old days. Organize groups, power is in numbers. Post NO TRESPASSING signs and then shoot them if they come on your property. Dispose of them (habeus corpus) so there is a lack of evidence. Don’t feel guilty. Don’t look back. The Bible says we are to protect ourselves and our families, not allow someone to put us in an early grave.
Discreetly organize local groups, strategically positioned AND strategically placed groups of people carefully spread out can determine the locations/paths of the planes that spray your crops so you can see where they come from and where they land. Use walkie-talkies instead of cell phones, if possible. Investigate them. Then brainstorm, think, just like they did, and come up with a workable plan. This is your life … your livelihood.
Most Sociopaths and criminals are cowards … and there’s a real fine line between clever and stupid. Most of them know how to work the legal system and use the law to their advantage. So can you.
Anytime I stood up to a Sociopath, including once a neighbor, they backed down real fast. Now, this Sociopath neighbor is afraid of me. He has no idea what’s next and I just used words, no weapons. Don’t go overboard, get out of control, or fly into a rage. Just be calm and do what you gotta do and say what you gotta say. They’re cowardly, stupid and arrogant. They are ego-based. Use those weaknesses to your advantage. They’re wrong … your right … so do what’s right. Take back your power.
September 28, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Hmm this is great post.
October 1, 2009 at 2:27 pm
The problem with GM seeds from Monsanto and other is minor compared to what’s coming. When Monsanto buys the seeds companies, it can patent the seeds and then can come after the growers who had been saving that particular plant’s seed for many years or even generations. Who can prove they had the seeds before the patent or who can afford to take Monsanto to court? No one.
September 3, 2010 at 9:04 am
Mail a percentage of your seeds to your self. You don’t have to use them, but the post mark (and the receipt)provide provenance for having the seeds.
October 4, 2009 at 12:13 pm
I am so upset about Monsanto and their employees! How do they sleep at night and how do they tell their children and grandchildren that everything will be alright and that they are doing the right thing. Deep down(maybe very deep) they know that they are harming the worlds food sources and that hunger will be the end result. Take a look at what they have done introducing their contaminated seed to places like India and Africa. It seems like a really bad movie where no one with a conscious is running the world.
I have collected as many seeds as I can on various veg and herbs and flowers and will be sharing as much as I can with people who have the space to grow food but it seems like such a small step in the right direction. Wish I could do more.

February 3, 2010 at 4:00 pm
Every single time a consumer buys a product/item, they are casting a “YES” Vote, for that product/item, including
foods that will cause illness/disease.
The Monsanto’s are a powerful group as they have been able to get away with this for decades. They are multi-billionaires … and not only do they have the financial means to get people on their side (there are some people who will sell their souls to the Devil) but they are also powerful because POWER IS IN NUMBERS. I guess the good news here is that there are more of us, then them.
So, GMO’s isn’t anything new, it is just that people are now becoming more aware, now that it’s clearly out of control.
Again, every single purchase we make is casting one vote for that product, both food and non-food items.
Also, since we were meant to consume larger amounts of veggies + fruits, nuts and seeds and not meant to consume large quantities of meat, poultry, and so on, it’s best if we buy less, meaning smaller portions, but healthier Organic choices. In the end, the price will be the same.
So, for those who say they cannot afford Organic foods/non-GMO or Grass-Fed meats, as opposed to GMO Foods or corn fed,(the worst) … I say you can’t afford not to buy Grass-Fed & Organic non-GMO foods.
Just buy and eat a little less …smaller portions, better food … It’s a good solution to the “I can’t afford Organic/non-GMO/Free-Range/Grass-Fed”.
For example, instead of buying a 1 lb corn-fed piece of meat/chicken/turkey loaded with hormones/antibiotics that will eventually make you sick and suppress your immune system, buy 10-12 oz of Grass-Fed for the same price as the Corn-Fed one pound of protein that will make you sick. Buy Organic non-GMO butter, but eat a little less butter than usual. Although you’ll pay more for Organic, in the end you will have spent the same amount of money if you pay more, but use/eat a little less … and maybe you’ll lose a pound or two.
EAT LESS BUT EAT BETTER … or you can
EAT BETTER BUT EAT LESS.
As far as the Monsanto’s, they’re a family of Sociopathic pathology. There is no reasoning with them. Sociopaths lack empathy. It’s actually an inherited, brain disorder. They raise their kids to be Sociopaths. They only hire Sociopaths and fear-based followers. People who operate from a place of fear,(the average American) are what allowed this to get out of control. People do what they can do, not what they can’t. The Monsanto’s did this because they could.
If we get lucky, maybe some brave group of people, non-Monsanto/psychos, will band together, create chaos and anarchy, and kill these terrorists, their enablers, supporters and their lawyers.
After all, we are a majority and power is in numbers.
February 3, 2010 at 4:05 pm
It’s all about power and greed.
“It’s easier to get a Camel through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter Heaven”.
September 3, 2010 at 9:52 pm
The Eye of the Needle was an entrance to the city of Jerusalem that was so small that a camel could only enter on its knees. In other words, a rich man could get to heaven, but only if he spent much time on his knees.

Interesting, Russ, and makes much more sense than the traditional translations. May I inquire of your sources?

I have to admit it was a story I heard in a Sunday sermon many years ago. So I googled it and found many repeating the story:

and a few that says the story is not true:

Since I was not there, I cannot prove the interpretation.

You are going to be quite surprised at what “God” lets happen- the more that America wants God removed from things ie…the schools in ‘prayer’, the money – ‘In God We Trust’- and not follow after Him, then like many countries listed in the Bible, God will stamp “ICHABOD” on that nation. ICHABOD means “God has Departed”. It’s only by whatever mercy and grace He still gives us as a nation, that we still stand at all, given how far we have wandered from moralty in lifestyles, music,TV programs, etc…He will in fact allow whatever it takes to get our attention to turn back to Him. It’s always “Our turn” in the game of Life. Just read some of the history making things in the OT of the Bible. All I can say is ‘we ain’t seen nothin yet.’

I live in California, after watching the film “Food,Inc.”, which all should watch, I
have been trying to get healthier foods. I shop at Farmers markets, no more fast foods, etc. But how can I be sure if the seed are clean that the farmers are using? Or that the seed I buy to plant is not a GM seed. Even trying to buy eggs or chickens that have not been fed with corn, or soy is next to impossible. Is there any clean seed left in the U.S. ?

I presume by now that you all have seen the report on how glyphosate works. It kills weeds by locking up the calcium, iron, Copper, Zinc, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum & chromium in the soil so fungus can kill the weeds. The GM crops are designed to survive without needing these essential nutrients. So if you eat the modified corn, soy, cotton-seed, canola, sugar-beet or alfalfa, supplements to provide these essential nutrients are essential. [But you still get the Bt-toxin and other bad stuff.]

The best way for farmers to fight monsanto is for EVERYONE to save seed. Monsanto does not have enough money to sue everyone.

I’m using this article in my Agriculture Class. My Ag teacher always tells us how great Monsanto is. And I’ve heard just about enough. I thank the good Lord that I have a mother who studies these things. We’ve already stocked up on ‘Emergency seeds” that are non-gmo and non-hybrid. I can’t believe that with all the scientific evidence of how these crops are so bad, theyre still out there. I used to get scared watching movies about biological warfare. Now look. We’re living it, and there’s no soldiers out on the front lines to stop it but the american people. Stand Up to Monsanto, and Dont Stop until they are out of buisness and their crops are GONE!!!

So let me get this straight… anyone with the capability to genetically modify any seed, can lay a claim to the patent rights of that seed, and any seeds subsequently cross-pollinated by the natural activities of the insects living on our planet. I say the laws of nature should overrule any law in the courts. After all wouldn’t the cross-pollination be an act of God? Unbelievable!
