Hi Andre,

I got the info from the Organic Consumers Association, at the following link:

http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_10951.cfm

Something you might be interested in is that there is an effort to bypass local laws in order for the Feds to shove GMO down our throats, like it or not. Here is the information:

Hi Barbara,

How did you find that these counties banned GMOs? I would like to know if it is banned where I live (Western WA).

Thank you for the link, Veronica!

Harald,

We sure do take things for granted. We are too busy rushing back and forth to work in our SUVs, wondering how we are going to pay the gas bill. Meanwhile the earth rapers go on about their business of pillage and ruin.

I've got to ask the question; if life is limited to a few men's imaginations only, then where is the spontaneous beauty?

I noticed something today. A few years ago a bag of concrete was left out in the snow and rain, and we forgot about it. Well, it lost its paper, and now flowers have grown up all around and through it. A partial pallet dropped near it and flowers are growing up through that also. It is beautiful! I couldn't have arranged it like that if I tried. I simply would not have thought of it. It looks like railroad tracks coming our of a mine. Simply amazing.

When we take things like this out of the equation and try to replace natural happenings with manmade, we lose the spontaneous beauty. And, since GMO is pervasive and takes over the surrounding plants, very soon we will be living in a nightmare of our own creation, with nothing left of the spontaneuous beauty that is so very special and unique.

What a very sad place this would be without the unique and wonderous biodiversity that makes our planet what it is. Subjecting all of creation to genetic modification is a crime that I believe is one of the most horrendous on the face of the earth.

How do you poison an entire planet and the people and animals on it with no thought for the consequences other than how much money you will make? How do you mess around with changing the DNA of every living creature on the planet, then sit back in your sheltered castle and think that somehow you are immune?

Barbara Peterson has hit the nail right on the head! The majority of people have become too complacent and are taking life for granted. In the mean time some really mean spirited, so called educated people have become puppets of the Rockefellers of this world and poison the planet and all manner of life, including the human race into oblivion! Question: How do they expect to survive and what kind of planet do they think it would be like with so much less diversity of life, if any???

What saddens me is that the majority of people simply do not care. The prevailing attitude is; GMO hasn't hurt me, so it must be okay. Baloney! This is the same short-sighted thinking that allowed Rockefeller and company to get a leg-up on ruling the world through perpetual war and genocide.

If you don't think beyond the immediate (it hasn't hurt me yet) and don't take into consideration the rapidly growing statistics of disease and deaths, and keep hiding your head in the sand, GMO will eventually hurt you and your descendents, and their descendents.

We need to think of others, their futures, and stop being so damned narcissistic and only thinking of ourselves. The research is there, proving that GMO is dangerous, just not in the mainstream media.

End of rant :)

By the way, some more good news. Upon further research, I discovered that the following CA counties and cities have banned GMO production:

Counties:
Mendocino
Marin
Santa Cruz
Trinity

Cities:
Arcata
Point Arena

We should all be jumping up and down over this! this is a real victory and one that will set a precendence that can be used in the future.

Isn't it amazing what one person can accomplish? Just think what could happen if more of us fought to the finish like this.
